The travel-inspired bag specialist CabinZero is to unveil a new bag collection to the global travel retail industry at the TFWA Asia Pacific Conference & Exhibition in Singapore this month.

This brand new limited edition Classic Remix Collection has been made in collaboration with the V&A (London’s world leading museum of art, design and performance) and combines innovative all-weather, durable bags with beautifully designed, unique patterns. The range of six backpacks and hip bags features a variety of convenient sizes: 28 litre, 36 litre and 44 litre in Classic; 2 litre Classic Hip; and the 11 litre and 30 litre in ADV Dry.

The collection introduces four stunning new design styles into travel retail and domestic markets, inspired by prints drawn from the V&A archives, including Azar which is a travel retail exclusive:

Paisley
This beautiful paisley design was inspired by the work of textile designer George Haité (1825-71). Originally designed for a Victorian shawl, the pattern has been re imagined with linen white, rich red, deep blue and jade green on a burgundy background.

Night Floral
A white trailing bloom print combining a soft black background with tones of olive, khaki green and highlights of chartreuse and soft pink. This stylish design takes its inspiration from an album of textiles by William Kilburn (1745-1818) in the V&A collection.

Azar
Orange flaming lotus flowers entwined with deep indigo stems and leaves, on a vintage sand background. This stylish design is inspired by an extraordinary Iranian textile, originally woven in Iran in the mid-19th century.

Spitalfields
This hand-painted floral watercolour print, in soft burgundy tones on an antique cream background, was inspired by the designs of Huguenot silk weaver, James Leman (1688-1745), in the V&A collection.

Features of individual bags in CabinZero’s new V&A collection vary depending on their size, but some highlights include all-weather protection, hide-away straps, trolley slip, thicker padding on the back and straps, sternum straps, bottle/umbrella pockets, and laptop compartments.

CabinZero founder and CEO Neil Varden said: “This ultra-cool collaboration with the V&A in London adds some beautiful archival prints to our collection and my favourite of those, the Azar, has been made a travel retail exclusive.

Lauren Sizeland, Head of Licensing & Business Development at the V&A says: “We were delighted to work with CabinZero’s skilled design team as they explored inspiration from across our archives, reimagining and honing rich patterns, whilst demonstrating respect for the original designs. The range blends beautiful artwork with innovative materials, producing a clever and unique offering to the travel market.”
