Independent family distillers William Grant & Sons and Jean-Sébastien Robicquet have announced a Cognac partnership for the duty-free marketplace.
William Grant & Sons and founder and creator of the brand La Guilde du Cognac Jean-Sébastien Robicquet have announced a partnership to create the world’s first extensive collection of single terroir Cognacs. The move was annouced at last week’s TFWA exhibition in Cannes and will see William Grant & Sons expand its portfolio into a new and fast-growing category.
La Guilde du Cognac highlights the work of artisan distillers from the entire Cognac appellation. The initial range will showcase four single village Cognacs. These Cognacs will be the original expression of one cru, one village, one vintage and one artisan distiller: a whole new discovery of Cognac diversity, richness and nuances.
La Guilde du Cognac is already available in France, Spain and Portugal through Renaissance spirits. It will soon be available in selective launch markets through William Grant & Sons which will be disclosed at a later stage.

The initial collection of La Guilde du Cognac was submitted to the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, winning:
• Two double gold medals for the Cherves Richemont village in Borderies and Saint Preuil village in Grande Champagne
• One gold medal for Saint Germain de Vibrac in Petite Champagne
• One silver medal for Lorignac in Fins Bois
These wins are testimony to the incredible liquid quality of La Guild du Cognac which will perfectly complement the William Grant & Sons portfolio of award winning brands.
The Collection – RSP – To range between $100 and $250 a bottle depending on the Single Village and the vintage.
Availability – expected to be in duty-free stores from November 2018 – locations to be announced.
