Maison Margiela has released a new perfume, the first under the direction of John Galliano. Meet #MyMutiny…

Launched as part of their SS19 show, Mutiny is the first perfume released under the creative direction of John Galliano. With six people as the faces of the scent, Margiela is defying the stereotypical idea of beauty ambassadors. Actress Sasha Lane, musicians Princess Nokia and Willow Smith, models Hanne Gaby Odiele, Molly Bair and Teddy Quinlivan are the mutineers du jour…

This is a scent that encourages individuality and urges its wearer to go against the grain. In the campaign shot by Craig McDean, our six heroes tell us what they think about being different.

 

And then there’s the fragrance.

The ever-elusive Maison Margiela is known for its anonymity, but just one spritz of the Mutiny eau de parfum makes it impossible to blend in. A daring scent for the non-conformists among us, it’s the hints of Mandarin Oil, Pink pepper and Saffron on first spritz that will reel you in. Enthused by floral notes, it combines deconstructed (by master perfumer, Dominique Ropion) tuberose at its heart with powerful, warming leather and Oud at the base.

Top notes: Mandarin Oil, Pink pepper, Saffron
Heart notes: Orange Flower, Sambac Jasmine Absolute, and Tuberose Absolute
Base notes: Leather Accord, Bourbon Vanilla, Oud
Available in 50ml and 90ml
